Privacy Policy

Celebrating Chapters is currently in pre-launch Early Access. This policy explains what information the current website actually collects, why, and how it is handled. It reflects the live Early Access / Coming Soon experience at celebratingchapters.com. This is a practical draft for Early Access testing. Sections noted below should be reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.

Information we collect

To join Early Access, we collect your first name and email address, plus your explicit consent to be contacted about Early Access.

Optionally, if you choose to answer them, we collect:

• Which future life Chapter (after Wedding) you'd most want help with
• Your planning timeframe
• Up to three answers about the hardest part of planning an important life event
• Up to three answers about what you'd want automated for you
• What would make the product worth paying for
• Free-text feedback about what you wish planning websites did better
• Whether you'd like occasional product/marketing updates (a separate, unchecked-by-default choice)

We also automatically capture basic attribution data with your submission: referrer, the page path you signed up from, and any UTM campaign parameters in the URL. We do not otherwise track your browsing on this site with analytics or cookies at this time (see "Analytics and cookies" below).

Once the full Wedding-planning application launches, an authenticated account will let you enter wedding-planning details you choose to provide (date, location, guest count, budget, and similar). This policy will be updated to reflect that before it is available to Early Access users.

Why we collect it

• To manage the Early Access list and contact you about access.
• To understand which problems and features matter most to potential users, so we build the right things first.
• To understand how visitors found the site through basic referral and campaign parameters.

Product updates are optional

Joining Early Access allows us to email you about Early Access itself. Broader product news and marketing updates are a separate, optional checkbox that is not selected by default — you must actively choose it.

Analytics and cookies

We use a lightweight, vendor-agnostic analytics hook (PostHog) to understand product usage, such as which parts of the Early Access form people complete. As of this policy's last-updated date, that integration is wired but not yet connected to a live PostHog project, so no analytics events are currently being sent or stored anywhere. When it is activated, we will update this section to describe what is collected and how to opt out. We do not currently set marketing or tracking cookies.

CAPTCHA

We do not currently use a CAPTCHA (such as hCaptcha) on this form. Submissions are protected instead by a hidden anti-bot field, server-side validation, and rate limiting (see "Security practices" below). If we add a CAPTCHA in the future, this policy will be updated.

How your information is handled — our service providers

We use the following infrastructure and service providers to operate the Service. Each processes information only as necessary to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — hosts our application database (including Early Access submissions) and the server-side function that validates and stores your submission. Supabase provides the infrastructure; we control access to the data.
• Cloudflare — hosts and serves this website and provides standard web infrastructure protections (e.g. TLS/HTTPS, basic bot mitigation).

We do not currently use Sentry (error monitoring) or Resend (transactional email) in production — if we activate either, this policy will be updated first. We do not send your Early Access information to any AI provider; the site does not currently transmit user-submitted data to a third-party AI service.

Security practices

Early Access submissions are stored in our access-controlled application database, protected by Row Level Security. The public website cannot read the Early Access list — there is no way for a visitor, including us via the browser, to query other people's submissions. Submissions are validated and rate-limited through a server-side function, and privileged database credentials are never exposed in the browser. See our Trust & Security page for more detail.

Data retention

We keep Early Access information while it remains useful for managing Early Access and guiding product decisions, unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes. [LEGAL REVIEW: a specific maximum retention period will be defined before public launch.]

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Early Access information at any time by contacting us. You may also unsubscribe from optional marketing updates at any time.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, to the extent necessary to operate the Service, and where required by law.

Children

The Service is not directed to children, and Early Access requires you to confirm you are old enough to consent under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and its data practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
